Safety & Boundaries
RenuuAI is a recovery coach for people navigating infidelity. It is built with specific boundaries around what kind of support it can offer, what it is not meant to replace, and when a user should be directed toward qualified human help.
What RenuuAI is not for
RenuuAI is not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, medication advice, legal advice, religious or spiritual counseling, crisis counseling, emergency response, or domestic violence advocacy.
Its role is to support reflection, grounding, accountability, boundary language, communication preparation, roadmap guidance, and practical recovery steps. It is not meant to pressure users toward reconciliation, divorce, forgiveness, disclosure timing, sexual reconnection, or any major life decision.
RenuuAI is also built to stay within its lane. When a conversation moves outside infidelity recovery, its boundaries are set to redirect rather than improvise.
When professional support may be needed
RenuuAI encourages qualified professional support when a situation is complex, volatile, traumatic, abusive, unsafe, or outside the scope of a recovery coaching tool.
That includes situations involving severe distress, trauma symptoms, abuse, coercive control, stalking, sexual assault, safety concerns, compulsive or addictive sexual behavior, legal or financial complexity, or anything requiring licensed, emergency, domestic violence, sexual assault, medical, legal, or crisis support.
Professional support is not treated as a competitor to RenuuAI. It is treated as the right next layer of care when the situation calls for more than an app can responsibly provide.
Crisis and safety signals
When a user shares language suggesting suicidal thoughts, self-harm, violent intent, inability to stay safe, abuse, coercive control, stalking, sexual assault, immediate danger, severe dissociation, psychosis-like symptoms, or even an ambiguous safety signal, RenuuAI’s safety instructions direct it to stop normal recovery coaching.
In those moments, the app is not meant to assess, analyze, or coach through the situation as if ordinary recovery support is enough. Its instructions are to respond briefly and calmly, state that it is not qualified to handle crisis or emergency situations, and direct the user toward immediate qualified human help.
For users in the U.S., this may include calling or texting 988. Outside the U.S., or when location is unknown, RenuuAI points users to local emergency services or the app’s verified crisis-resource list. Normal infidelity recovery coaching should only resume once the user clearly indicates they are not in immediate danger and have access to human support if needed.
Response feedback
Every AI response in RenuuAI includes a flag option so users can report a response that feels inappropriate, unhelpful, unsafe, or off-base.
When a user flags a response, the RenuuAI support team receives only the specific AI response that was flagged and any feedback the user chooses to submit. The support team does not receive the user’s original message, the rest of the conversation, or other AI responses from that chat.
This feedback helps us review specific issues and keep improving the app’s safety and quality over time.
For urgent danger or crisis situations, users should seek immediate qualified human help rather than relying on the flag feature.
